Children’s Bedroom Design and Redesign

IMAGINE THIS

Baby’s rooms, toddler’s rooms, school age children’s rooms, tween and teen rooms-- lets make the process manageable and enjoyable for all of you.

Kathy Corbet Interiors would like to offer easy interior design or redesign for children’s bedrooms for a fixed price.

This is how we see it working out: You are given “homework” assignments to provide the information needed to design the room. Upon receipt of the information KCI will put together a floor plan, a color guide, 2 elevations and a resource list. The whole process takes about 2 weeks! Shopping for the recommended items can be a great outing for you and your child to purchase on your own, or you can enlist the custom design services of Kathy Corbet Interiors.

It is a new idea that we plan to try out. Stay tuned for the results...

Argentina Home Style

THE ENDLESS SEARCH

“Barbecue” in the USA usually conjures up images of the 4th of July; all red, white and blue. In Argentina it takes on a whole new atmosphere that is found everywhere you go.

This “parrilla” style grill is in a private residence just outside Buenos Aires. The wood is heated to glowing embers in the small bin to the right. When they are ready they are spread out on the “floor” of the grill and with a crank the grate is lowered to within inches of the coals. Meat, chorizo, vegetables and potatoes are roasted to perfection. The bread is heated and you have an Argentinian feast!

(if anyone in the Richmond area knows where to get South American chorizo, please share!)

If you want to continue eating in the true spirit of the Argentine ranch. You would set a table made of an entire cross section of the mu tree (remove the bark) and a wrought iron base. The chairs would be a rugged brown leather.

Serve a tasty Malbec wine and serve your side dishes in a copper pot lined with stainless steel...you will need to properly beat the pot to show some rugged wear and tear--brand new just won’t do!

Finding Design Ideas for Home Interiors

THE ENDLESS SEARCH

I travel to odd places to shop markets for clients, or to take one of my daughters figure skating and the other sailing! Work and pleasure are always getting mixed up! I am in Argentina this week for a sailing regatta and I am finding incredible ideas. Argentina has a style that is so unique yet so familiar. I hope to post more photos when I return to the USA!
This is a photo from a "coffee shop" in Mar del Plata. It is the hall leading to the ladies restroom! I would love to have this painted on the wall of a teen or preteen's bedroom and add in an accent of turquoise or hot pink! The black and white allows for flexibility for years to come as your teen changes her favorite color! Add some cool mirrors, a glitzy mini chandelier and maybe a shag throw rug!
