White on White

THE ENDLESS SEARCH

Singapore
The Raffles Hotel was originally built in 1886 by the British who were establishing Singapore as a major port on their trading routes. The decor is the Colonial British "Exotic East" look. We often see it described as "Hemingway" style. White washed walls, dark wood furnishings, terra cotta tiles and palm trees. This look is a stark contrast to the burst of color I posted recently from "Little India".

A Burst of Color

THE ENDLESS SEARCH

Singapore

The Little India section of Singapore may be the most cheerful and colorful place I have ever been. I never really thought much about the traditional Sari and what style the women have when putting their ensembles together. I think I would have fun getting dressed in the morning!
