The Endless Search: A $6,400 Toilet

Behold, the Kohler Numi Toilet. I’m not sure if it’s a design for geeks or the very obsessive!

It opens, closes and flushes automatically. A touch-pad remote allows you to heat the seat, heat your feet, operate the bidet and the dryer, play music and even change the mood lighting. Here's how it works—this video might give me nightmares.

I’m not sure if you’ll be rushing out to get your very own Numi toilet, but it’s important not to forget décor and design for your bathroom.

When it comes to bathroom design, layout is always the first step. Next, we choose the necessities—toilet, shower configuration, sink and faucet. These are what make a bathroom function, plus they add style. Navigating the many choices can be confusing. I can help with custom bathroom design, and I also offer fixed rate bathroom and fixed rate powder room design packages. Here are some of my favorite projects.

This master bath in Windsor Farms shows how important material selections are. Here a great combination of tile design an layout, trim, cabinet finish and counter top selection make for an envy-worthy room.

In this classic master bath, the paint color, window covering and accessories really finish the look—it’s simple and elegant.

Check out this island spa. The counter tops, mirror, tiles and fun accessories come together to create a relaxing atmosphere.
